If you're looking for things to do in Florence, Oregon, don’t miss this vibrant, art-filled experience right inside the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center! All month long, we're showcasing the whimsical and creative works of Backstreet Gallery, one of Florence’s premier co-op galleries—right here at 290 Highway 101, Florence, OR.

This month’s theme? “Whale of a Time!” And that’s exactly what you’ll have browsing this colorful display of local Florence art featuring nearly 20 pieces in a variety of media—from watercolor and photography to fused glass, oil painting, ceramics, textiles, and more. Best of all? Every piece is for sale, so you can take a little piece of Oregon’s Coastal Playground home with you.

Florence Artists Making Waves

Backstreet Gallery’s rotating exhibit at the Chamber includes work by:

  • Stephanie Ames (photography)

  • Kristin Anderson (fused glass)

  • Pattie Brooks Anderson (watercolor)

  • Judy Fleagle (author)

  • Claudia Ignatieff (oil painting)

  • John Leasure (oil painting)

  • Karen Nichols (watercolor)

  • Robin Siewell (watercolor)

One standout is the stunning "Moody Giant Pacific Octopus" acrylic painting by Lara Webster, front and center on our gallery wall. Siobhan Holden’s ceramic octopus (featured on the promo poster) sold before the show even opened—proof that these artists are worth a visit!
