Chamber Emerging Entrepreneur Scholarship
Supporting the Next Generation of Business Owners and Leaders in Florence, Oregon
Applications are open now for the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce Chamber Emerging Entrepreneur Scholarship. This new scholarship was created to support local students who are planning a future in business ownership, business management, or leadership within a trade, service, or professional field.
Whether a student dreams of opening a plumbing company, running a retail store, managing a hospitality business, launching a creative service, or building a company around a skilled trade, this scholarship is designed for emerging entrepreneurs who are ready to take the next step.

- Scholarship Amount: $1,000
- Application Deadline: May 31
- Award Presentation: June 18 at the Siuslaw Awards

Who Can Apply
This scholarship is open to all high school seniors. Students do not have to graduate in order to apply.
Applicants should demonstrate an interest in:
- Business ownership
- Business management
- Entrepreneurship
- Leadership in a trade, technical, or professional field
This opportunity is intended for students who plan to pursue education or training that will help them eventually own, lead, or manage a business.
How the Scholarship Works
The $1,000 scholarship will be distributed once the selected recipient provides proof of enrollment in one of the following:
- The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Small Business Management Course, or
- Business classes through a college program
This flexible structure allows the scholarship to support a wide variety of career paths tied to entrepreneurship and business leadership.
Ideal Candidates
The Chamber Emerging Entrepreneur Scholarship is for students who are thinking beyond a job and toward building something of their own.
Examples include:
- A future plumber who plans to open a plumbing business
- A student pursuing cosmetology with the goal of owning a salon
- A future contractor who wants to run a construction company
- A hospitality student preparing to manage a lodging or dining business
- A student studying business with plans to lead or launch a company

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed by a Florence Area Chamber of Commerce selection committee. Top candidates may be invited to participate in a short in-person interview as part of the final selection process.
