Let’s celebrate together this 4th of July!  Florence Habitat for Humanity and the City of Florence are hosting the 2nd annual Porch Parade Decorate your front porch to show your community spirit!    Unleash your creativity and bring a smile to your friends and neighbors. Don’t have a front porch? No problem! Decorate any area visible from the street. Businesses we want to include you too, so decorate your porch and windows and show us your community spirit   A virtual map with the locations of all registered porches will be available so you can plan a walk or drive around our community to see and share in the celebration. To register, for virtual map and to vote for your favorite home and business visit the City of Florence or Florence Habitat for Humanity websites.

Calling all kids from 1 to 100! Decorate your bike, trike or wagon* and join us at Juniper & Bay Street. Staging begins at 10:30 am, Parade begins at 11am. *Non-motorized entrants only Registration and waiver florencehabitat.org

Registration Starts at 11:00 am, Pie eating contest at 12:00 pm, Watermelon eating contest at 1:00 pm. Everyone must have a waiver, waivers can be found at florencehabitat.org on our events page.

A RACE FOR THE REST OF US Race Overview A “race” for a good cause - to raise money for the Lane Council of Governments Senior Meals Program, which provides food to Lane County seniors who might otherwise go hungry. The distance is a whopping 0.5k – nope, that is not a typo! That is half kilometer, or about one third of a mile, or about 546 yards, or about 1640 feet, or about twice as far as the average good golfer can hit a golf ball off of a tee – you get the idea. This is a challenging course but also easy, in fact, we're not exactly sure what it'll look like for you. Could go either way. There will be customized aid stations (you decide!), unique finishing lines (you decide!), photos (again, you decide!)
