Oregon Coast Military Museum Rhody Days Poker Run


This poker run will be an open format where all types of vehicles can participate such as classics, hot rods, motorcycles, Jeeps – or simply anyone who wants to enjoy a day driving around the Florence area and helping our local non-profits. Registration starts at Three Rivers Casino Resort  at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday May 15th. Three levels of prize will be awarded based on the winning poker hands, and proceeds will be distributed evenly amongst the five participating non-profits, Florence Food Share, Oregon Coast Humane Society, Florence Habitat for Humanity, Crossroads Church Backpack for Kids Program, and the Oregon Coast Military Museum.

Rhody Run


Lace up your sneakers, it’s time for the annual Rhody Run 5K/10K Run-Walk on Saturday, May 15th at the Florence Events Center, 715 Quince Street. Registration begins at 7:30 and start time is 9:00. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been actively training or you need to shake the dust off your shoes, come out and enjoy our beautiful, paved course with gently rolling hills. All ages are welcome. The proceeds of this USATF sanctioned race benefits Florence Habitat for Humanity, which helps to continue providing our community with affordable housing for working families. Bottle and Can Drive-Thru Donation Event


Tired of standing in line to return those redeemable bottles and cans? Florence Habitat for Humanity will gladly take them off your hands as they continue to raise funds for a new delivery truck. Florence Habitat is hosting its next bottle and can drive on Saturday, May 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  This is a social distancing, drive-thru event. People can bring their redeemable bottles and cans they wish to donate to the Florence Habitat ReStore parking lot, 2016 Highway 101.  Volunteers will be on hand to unload them from your vehicle. If people are unable to make the event and would still like to donate, Florence Habitat collects deposit cans and bottles every day in our collection container located behind ReStore off Spruce Street. Let’s celebrate together this 4th of July!  Florence Habitat for Humanity and the City of Florence are hosting the 2nd annual Porch Parade Decorate your front porch to show your community spirit!    Unleash your creativity and bring a smile to your friends and neighbors. Don’t have a front porch? No problem! Decorate any area visible from the street. Businesses we want to include you too, so decorate your porch and windows and show us your community spirit   A virtual map with the locations of all registered porches will be available so you can plan a walk or drive around our community to see and share in the celebration. Cruise to celebrate our Nation's Independence; vehicles of all types are welcome, but not floats or walking entries. Vehicles are encouraged to be decorated with patriotic bunting, American Flags or Branch Service flags - but please - no commercial or political messaging. Staging at 11:00 a.m. at Florence Christian Church 1st/Ivy Streets; Cruise will terminate at Cross Roads Church 10th/Maple for a short patriotic program.

4th Of July – Fireworks in Old Town Florence


The Florence Area Chamber of Commerce, the Port of Siuslaw and the City of Florence have come together to save Florence’s annual 4th of July fireworks display. The fireworks will be shot over the Siuslaw River from the east end of the Siuslaw Port Campground in Historic Old Town beginning at about 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 4, to provide a multitude of great vantage points for spectators. We look forward to celebrating our nation’s independence and encourage everyone in Florence to find safe and fun ways to celebrate Independence Day this year and look to the skies that evening for the beautiful display we have planned.
