TENTH ANNUAL SIUSLAW BUSINESS AWARDS BANQUET TO RECOGNIZE ACHIEVEMENT

“Our town buzzing with the spirit of revolutionizing, re-visioning and revitalizing,” says Bettina Hannigan, executive director for the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce. “The 10th annual Siuslaw Awards are a great way to celebrate that.”

The event, open to the public, takes place Wednesday, February 7, at the Florence Events Center, 715 Quince St. The reception begins at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person or $320 for reserved tables for eight people, and are available online at FlorenceChamber.com/event/siuslaw-awards or at the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce office 290 Highway 101 in Florence.

“We invite Chamber members and the community at large to join us ‘Rhody Rendezvous-style’ as we celebrate at the Florence Event Center with live entertainment, a State of the Chamber address, a delicious dinner, and presentations by our community business leaders for a fabulous evening together,” says Terry Abeyta, event coordinator and assistant director of the Chamber. The event’s focus ties into this year’s Rhododendron Festival “Rhody Rendezvous” theme.

This prestigious event recognizes excellence in the local business community by naming recipients for awards in Customer Service, Curb Appeal, Non-Profit Achievement, Community Caring, Innovation in Business, and the Stu Johnston Business of the Year Award. The Chamber will also recognize an individual or business that has selflessly given of their time and efforts in supporting the Chamber and its efforts with the Distinguished Service Award.

Two outstanding individuals in the community will be honored with the First Citizen Award and the Future First Citizen Award. The First Citizen Award recognizes that individual who has given selflessly to the community based on community involvement, leadership, and overall community impact. The Future First Citizen Award recognizes a student based on his or her academic success as well as civic involvement and contributions to the community.

Community Caring Award: Banner Bank, Beach House Gifts, Friends of the Florence Events Center, Lane Community College, Beauty by Delivery Wellness Spa

Curb Appeal: Heceta Head Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast, P.S. Winkles, Polished Boutique & Salon, Peace Health Harbor

Excellence in Customer Service: Abel Insurance Agency, Beaux Arts, Florence Tech Solutions, Jerry’s Place, Sand Master Park

Innovation in Business: RAIN, Siuslaw Broadband, Small Business Management Program

Non-Profit Achievement: C.R.O.W., Florence Regional Arts Alliance, Siuslaw Vision 2025, Soroptimist of Florence, Siuslaw Pioneer Museum
