What memories to you treasure of Spring Break here in Oregon’s Coastal Playground during your younger years?
If you’re like a lot of folks in Oregon, you have warm recollections of time at the beach collecting agates and shells, jumping waves, climbing on driftwood, exploring tide pools, and building grandiose sandcastles.
You might also remember hiking up those dunes that seemingly reached to the sky, rolling back down and filling every crevice of clothing with sand. Maybe it was riding a dune buggy or ATV, the trip to Sea Lion Caves and Cape Perpetua, fishing on a lake, or crabbing in the Siuslaw River.
And every evening sitting around a campfire or beach fire telling stories and making s’mores!
Time to relive it—or even recreate it—with family and friends here in Florence.
Imagine it with an adult twist—a romantic getaway to one of our top-rated hotels or inns, a late breakfast along Bay Street followed by leisurely browsing in the quaint shops, inspiring art galleries, or antique shops (“Hey, my parents had one of those things in their house!”) with latte in hand. Add an afternoon round of golf at one of our two outstanding links courses, a thrilling sandrail excursion, or a trip back to the iconic and unforgettable Sea Lion Caves.
Then, end your day with a relaxing glass of your favorite beverage, a fresh-catch-of-the-day dinner, and a sunset walk along mile after mile of uncrowded beach.
Bringing the kids? OK…let’s adjust that dream sequence above just a bit.
Sleeping-in in a room you don’t have to make up, free continental breakfast at the hotel lobby, a trip to the dunes and crabbing on the river to wear the kids out—or better yet, a day of sandboarding (preceded by lessons)—and family dinner at a big table where nice folks serve you…or take-out to bring back to that nicely made-up room.
Whatever you do, bring the graham crackers, chocolate bars, and marshmallows for the beach fire—or the in-room microwave.
