NEW ART DISPLAY AT FLORENCE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Florence Area Chamber of Commerce’s Visitor Center, 290 Highway 101, features a different local artist each month. Their newest display of local artistry features the coastal photography of Jo Beaudreaux, owner of BeauxArts Fine Art Materials in Florence. Included are scenic portraits of boats and bridges, nature’s textures, and some of the floral beauty of our area.  Click here to see the exhibit details!

“If you haven’t seen the changes in the Visitor Center yet, now is a great time to come by and see how we’ve re-purposed the space and feature local artist’s work,” says executive director Bettina Hannigan. “Throughout June you’ll see the works of local photographer and arts aficionado Jo Beaudreaux, and see how we’re greeting our out-of-area visitors and local residents to promote the Florence community.”

“Florence is a happening place and the arts are strong here,” says Beaudreaux. “By promoting the arts in our community we can boost economic development for our region.

Beaudreaux’s work has been displayed in shows and galleries across America. She serves on the City of Florence’s public art committee, does the Second Saturday Gallery Tour of more than 10 local galleries, serves on the Florence Events Center’s gallery committee, and is co-chair of the Siuslaw Vision 2025 Vision Keepers. She uses photography as the ways and means of exploring the plethora of emotions, objects, and scenery.

Beaudreaux’s educational background is in photography which is her favorite form of expression. She earned a bachelor’s of fine art from San Jose State University.

The arts are my interest, specifically, the visual arts.  I’ve always been involved with creating my own art or helping others create theirs. I love all types of expression. Every day I am thrilled I can help people create through my shop’s materials, my materials knowledge, and other resources,” she says.

“With this remodel we are able to offer local artists to have a place to exhibit their work. Along with Jo’s work right now we also have Lakeshore Myrtlewood, exhibiting in the lobby,” adds Hannigan. Each month the Chamber will feature two- and three-dimensional exhibits by local artists and galleries.
