Florence Area Chamber of Commerce
New Member Packet
Welcome to the Florence Chamber family! We are so happy to have you as a member of our team. Please read the following information about your membership and feel free to call or email with any questions.
Things to know
The Chamber meets twice monthly. These meetings are open to the public and members are encouraged to attend as regularly as possible as this is a great networking tool for you. You can meet other members and fellow business owners and keep on the up and up about events and specials in the community. Many businesses designate an employee to attend these meetings. Get more membership facts here.
Chamber Noon Forums
Currently being held at Best Western Pier Point Inn with Waterfront Catering. Third Thursday of each month. Noon to 1 pm. Lunch is available for $8.75g. No pre-reservation required. This meeting always features a speaker that is relative to the area business community. We also do self-introductions, which allow people to give quick updates about their business.
Chamber Coffee Talk
First Friday of each month. 8 to 8:45 am. Bridgeport Market in Old Town. Coffee and pastries available. No pre-reservation is required. This meeting is focused specifically on networking and highlighting fellow members. Each month we will feature one chamber member to speak about their business for 10 minutes. To schedule your business for a coffee talk presentation please email the Director.
Member email blasts
We have over 200 chamber members all around the area stretching as far as CoosBay & Eugene. Each Friday we send an email to each member featuring weekly update information on area events. We rely on the members for the content of this blast so please, anytime you have a special event, sale or otherwise please email it to florence@oregonfast.net no later than Thursday at 5 pm to be included in the Friday blast.
Advertising Opportunities
As the Chamber of Commerce, often we are granted special advertising rates in some publications. We like to extend the offer to our members to participate in co-op advertising. This entails the Chamber purchasing a whole page in a publication and then offering advertising space to members which minimizes your cost and maximizes the exposure by representing Florence on a whole page (or two). We send quarterly emails with these offers but can only participate if enough people get on board.
Events available to members
Chamber Business After Hours. Third Thursday of each month. 5:30 to 7 pm. Held at a different chamber member business each month. This is a time to show yourself off to the public! These events are promoted by the Chamber on KCST Radio and in The Siuslaw News. Generally food and beverages are provided by the member. This event has an “open house” feel to it.
Ribbon Cuttings
These events are held for new businesses and seasoned businesses that may have changed locations, expanded, etc. If you would like to inquire about a ribbon cutting, please contact the Chamber Ambassador, Brian Castleman.
We need your help!
Upon becoming a member, we ask that you email us a 50 word description of your business, contact information, a photo and your website address (if you have one). We will send this to our webmaster who will put it up on our website. Currently we are in the top three results on google for searches relating to Florence Oregon or area businesses.
We also ask that you bring a brochure on your business (if you have one) and maybe even a stack of business cards for us to display in our lobby area. All of our festivals (Rhododendron Festival, Chowder Blues and Brews, 4th of July, etc) are put on by the Chamber. But with a staff total of 1.5 we need help! We assemble volunteer committees to pull these events off without a hitch and are always looking for volunteers to serve on those committees. If you are interested in volunteering, please email the Director.
