Florence Events
Florence has unique events that keep it full of new people and exciting activities. They entice just about everyone to our little neck of the woods. Families, friends, newly weds, singles, runners, musicians and even seasoned bikers eventually end up in Florence on the Oregon coast.
A few of Florence’s more popular annual events are the Rhododendron and Winter Folk Festivals, 4th of July Celebration, Florence Rods 'n Rhodies, Chowder, Blues & Brews and the Chamber Golf Scramble.
2007 was a special year to us because we celebrated the 100th Rhododendron Festival. It is the second oldest event in the state.
We are always working on new events here in Florence. One of our newest is the Siuslaw Salmon Derby, which is a two week-end tournament.
Florence revolves around the dunes that sprawl throughout our coast. There are many weekend events in the early winter that focus on various activities in the dunes, including the Dune Buggy show, the Motocross Obstacle Course, the Modern Dune Buggy Race, and a Dune Mush. All of these events take place in the Oregon Dune National Recreation Area, which starts in Florence.
